Brooklyn straphangers have started a petition to keep the ticket booth at the Carroll Gardens subway station open.
Jamie Boulia, who often travels with her two children and a stroller in tow, says she relies on the emergency door to get access to the platform. However, if the MTA moves ahead with its plan to eliminate ticket agents at the President Street entrance of the Carroll Garden station, Boulia and other riders will be out of luck.
Councilman Bill Deblasio says not having ticket agents present at the Carroll Gardens station is not only a quality of life matter, but also a safety concern.
