2h agoLibrary-goers rejoice! Sunday service is coming back to some New York City libraries starting this weekend.
This comes after the city’s library system were forced to eliminate its Sunday service across the boroughs due to mid-year budget cuts.
In June, Mayor Adams and the City Council agreed to restore $58.3 million worth of funding, which helped them bring back their Sunday service.
The Parkchester Library is hosting a celebration for its Sunday return on July 14 and 2 p.m.
Beginning July 14, the following Brooklyn and the Bronx locations will resume Sunday service:
- Parkchester Library, The Bronx
- Central Library, Brooklyn
- Kings Highway Library, Brooklyn
- The following Brooklyn and the Bronx locations will resume Sunday service on August 4:
- Bronx Library Center, The Bronx
- Brooklyn Heights Library, Brooklyn
- Greenpoint Library, Brooklyn
- Macon Library, Brooklyn
- Midwood Library, Brooklyn
- New Lots Library, Brooklyn
