BRUSH FIRE UPDATE: The forecast suggests that we will remain in an elevated fire risk at least through Sunday evening when winds are expected to finally weaken. However, the island will remain dry, and we are not expecting any rain in the next few days.
SUNDAY: Overnight, the winds will finally start to weaken but will re-strengthen, leading to more fire concerns on Sunday – especially into the afternoon. Winds will be between 10-20 mph sustained with gusts around 30 mph. Temperatures will be favorable as they warm near 50 degrees for the island, and plenty of sunshine may mix with clouds during the morning.
SUNDAY NIGHT: The winds will finally calm down to a more manageable speed, and next week looks great.
NEXT WEEK: Starting with Monday, temperatures will be near the middle 50s, mostly sunny and light winds. Tuesday and Wednesday will be even warmer as temperatures warm to around 60 degrees. We remain dry, but there is a chance for some showers on Thursday and Friday as an approaching weather maker may bring some rainfall.
