Police say swastikas were found painted on a playground in Gravesend Park in two separate incidents.
Officers discovered approximately 16 of the painted symbols Monday near 56th Street and 18th Avenue. Two days later, 57 more swastikas appeared at the same location.
Police found the symbols painted in red on the slides, walls and floor of the playground just before 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to authorities. Paint bottles were recovered at the scene.
The second incident happened just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. Officers discovered the swastikas painted in red and blue on the playground and handball court.
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the vandalism.
