About 100 taxi cab drivers marched across the Brooklyn Bridge to City Hall in a protest over ride-sharing apps.

They claim they've had enough of the lack of regulations for app-based ride companies like Uber and Lyft. They say the companies have been allowed to run roughshod over the rules and regulations that the yellow cab industry has been abiding by for 80 years.

Drivers say because there are now too many cars in the market, taxi medallions are being devalued and cab drivers are losing money on investments they made decades ago.

News 12 reached out to the city's Taxi and Limousine Commission, which said Uber and Lyft cars are licensed, regulated and held to the same standards as taxi drivers.

"The facts are clear - driver-partners love the Uber platform because of the economic opportunity and flexibility it provides while taxi drivers are forced to work 12-hour shifts for medallion millionaires notorious for exploiting workers," a spokesperson for Uber told News 12.
