A teen accused of breaking into a synagogue and assaulting a caretaker is facing charges, police say.
Dieuverson Caille, 16, of Flatlands is facing charges after police say he and another man used a ladder to break into a room above the synagogue on Avenue J and brutally beat a 53-year-old caretaker Sunday.
Officials say Caille and the other man stole items from the caretaker's room then forced him to open the door to the synagogue where the two men stole more items.
Caille is facing burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property charges.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and another person still remains on the loose.
