East New York residents are crying out for help after they say management has been negligent to fix the only working elevator inside their six-story apartment complex.
A dozen residents from the Georgia and Williams Towers spoke with News 12 saying that for the last year it has been a constant battle to have their elevator in consistent use.
The elevator was working Monday, but residents say it has been down three times over the past month, including one period lasting three weeks. They say the constant issues have made life difficult for the elderly, pregnant and disabled.
Residents say fixing the elevator is no longer the solution -- they are asking management to come in and replace it.
As of Tuesday, the building's management company says the elevators are up and running.
