News 12 is getting the latest on the housing market in the area.

Numbers are out on local home prices, but News 12’s Kristie Reeter also has The Real Deal on the trends realtors are seeing.

"Home prices have pretty much gone up throughout the state of New York despite the tick down in mortgage rates in just the past couple of months. The average rate around 7.3% for a 30 year. But when we look at the counties we track across New York, Suffolk County is leading the way with more than a 10% increase in home prices there, 7.2% in Nassau County, Westchester 3.6%, and only NYC holding steady with no increase in median prices over the past year, but we already know they are pretty high,” said Caleb Silver of Investopedia.
