The story of African-American vocalist Roland Hayes comes alive on Rockland stage

The Penguin Rep Theatre in Stony Point is showcasing a production about a historic African American vocalist.
"Breath & Imagination: The Story of Roland Hayes" is on stage for the next two weekends at the venue in Rockland. 
Hayes, a historic African American vocalist born in 1887, went from a plantation in Georgia to performing across Europe, including for royalty. He died in 1977.
"It's about pursuing your dream. Pursuing what inspires you," said Jesse Means, of Stony Point, who portrays Hayes.
