A Bronx resident is pleading for help after he says his home has been taken over by mice for months.
Raymond Cabrera’s home has duct tape all over the walls to prevent mice from chewing through them.
Cabrera says that in the last seven months, the mice have chewed his two recliners and his mattress.
He says he now has to sit on a bucket in the middle of his living room and sleep on top of three layers of comforters.
"These are 2021 mice, they're new millennium mice, they're smart. and they're tearing my apartment up... Squeak, squeak; tweak tweak, that's all night,” said Cabrera.
He tells News 12 that the mice situation is not only causing him to lose sleep but that it’s affecting his health as well.
Cabrera’s building was taken over by the Bronx Pro Group management company last year. He says they’re unwilling to send an exterminator to fumigate his apartment.
News 12 reached out to Bronx Pro Group and has not heard back yet.
