A Monday night home invasion has left members of the Borough Park community stunned. According to police, two masked men armed with box cutters forced their way into a home on 54th Street around 9:30 p.m. Once inside, they tied up a man and forced his wife to open a safe. The thieves made off with cash and jewelry.Neighbors identified the victims as the Sichermans, who have lived on the street for decades and run a successful real estate business from their home. Concerned neighbors say the attack sounds like it was well planned. Authorities say the suspects took off in a white GMC Denali with New York license plate number DPF2030. No arrests have been made and police are asking anyone with information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
