Thousands gathered at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Windsor Terrace to bid farewell to a fallen NYPD officer.
Officer Francis Hennessy died of a brain aneurysm last Tuesday while he was responding to a 911 call. He was 35 years old. A memorial at Newkirk Plaza to commemorate Hennessy was set up by members of the community.
Hennessy is the second officer from Brooklyn?s 70th Precinct that has died in the last three months. Officer Dillon Stewart was killed in the line of duty in November.
