Thousands of people laced up their sneakers Saturday for the Brooklyn Half Marathon.
Organizers say about 27,000 people were expected to participate in the run.
The 13.1-mile course started in Prospect Park at 7 a.m.
The route takes them through Brooklyn and ends on the Coney Island Boardwalk.
This is the 39th year the New York Road Runners hosted the event.
In addition to the thousands running, many also came out to support and cheer them on.
A course record was also set Saturday. The first person to cross the finish line did it in one hour and three minutes.
