Thousands of people are enduring a third day of sweltering heat without the help of air conditioners or fans following a massive blackout in Brooklyn.
According to Con Edison, Borough Park is among the effected neighborhoods after a manhole fire cut power to about 500 customers there. With temperatures above 90 degrees, the MTA brought in air conditioned buses to help keep residents cool along with ice and bottled water.
More than 1,000 customers are also in the dark in Park Slope, along with nearly 500 in Williamsburg.
Con Edison reduced voltage throughout the city by 5 percent Thursday in an effort to minimize outages during the summer's first heat spell and is urging all costumers to help conserve energy.
Crews will be working around the clock until all power is restored.
