Thunderbirds ready to take off for Bethpage Air Show, but forecast threatens cancellation

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are ready to take off for this weekend's Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach, if the weather cooperates.
Rain in the forecast could force officials to change the program or cancel the show altogether.
Officials say right now the show is scheduled to go on as planned, but they'll be watching the weather closely.
There are no rain dates and no refunds. If the show does get canceled, ticket holders will get two parking passes for state parks that can be used throughout the summer.

Leonel River, of Sheltair Aviation, says this weekend will be an extra special show because it will feature the Republic A-10 War Hawk, which was originally built at Republic Airport.
Rehearsal for the show is scheduled for today, and the show is Saturday and Sunday. Tickets for all three days are sold out with capacity limited to 50%.
