As New Yorkers prepare to dig out of a potential snowstorm this weekend - and maybe make do without electricity - some tourists were rushing to do some last-minute sightseeing and shopping.
A group of visitors on the Coney Island boardwalk told News 12 that they wanted to cover as much ground as they could before the storm hit.
They said they were worried they might not visit everything they'd wanted to see, but some were also excited for the chance to see winter in New York.
In Canarsie, commuters were stocking up on warm clothing. Vendors along Rockaway Parkway told News 12 that they were selling out of winter gear. They said that sales have increased since the storm warning.
