Trial extension granted for NYPD officers allegedly responsible for man’s death
The NYPD judge granted the two officers the extension due to a witness being on vacation at the time of the trial dates.

6h agoThe officers allegedly responsible for Kawasaki Trawick’s death were granted an extension to begin trial at a hearing on Tuesday.
The NYPD judge granted the two officers the extension due to a witness being on vacation at the time of the trial dates. Trawick’s mother says that she is nothing short of stunned that the judge granted this request.
According to police, in April 2019, officers Brendan Thompson and Herbert Davis responded to Trawick’s home in Morris Heights after he was allegedly threatening his neighbors. According to reports, a dispute happened between the two officers and Trawick that led them to stun him and then fatally shoot him.
One year later, the Bronx District Attorney’s office said they found no criminality on behalf of the officer’s actions, and an NYPD internal investigation found no wrongdoing.
“If it wasn’t for Herbert Davis and Brendan Thompson, my son would still be here with us today,” said Trawick’s mother. “He would still be here for summer vacations, holidays and birthdays.”
The trial will resume on May 11.
