One man is lucky to be alive after a wall collapse in Gowanus.

It happened Tuesday morning at a construction site on 12th Street, between 2nd and 3rd avenues.
According to workers, the driver of a pump truck was pulling out of the lot when the vehicle got caught on the masonry wall at the front, causing a metal roll down gate to collapse.
Cement blocks and other debris came crashing down right on top of the truck with the driver inside, but he was not hurt. No other injuries were reported.
The company, Red Hook Construction, has been given two violations from the Department of Buildings. The owner did not want to give a statement, but the men working at the location say it was just an accident and is the first time anything like this has happened.
