Ulster County officials: Fire in Napanoch Point 75% contained

The Napanoch Point fire in Ulster County is 75% contained thanks to the efforts of nearly 200 firefighters, county officials say.
They managed to bring the fire down to 142 acres after fighting it for a week. News 12 reported that two dozen local agencies were trying to control the fire that had spread across 270 acres of the preserve.
The Wurtsboro fire in Sullivan County is 100% contained and the Stony Kill fire is now on patrol status. That area is also 100% contained.
Today, bulldozers and hand crews from multiple agencies will continue to build indirect and direct control lines and bucket drops will continue from state helicopters.
Ulster County says the Minnewaska State Park Preserve will be closed at least through labor day weekend.
