This year's Old Timer's Day in Brownsville was supposed to be a festive summer reunion until it was terrorized by a mass shooting that left nearly a dozen people injured and one man dead.

More than two months later, News 12 is hearing from the family of the man who was killed.
Hector Perez lost his nephew, Jason Pagan, in the shooting and says it is still a shock.
"I don't wish that on anybody, anybody's family to go through it,” says Perez.

Earlier this week, the NYPD released new video of two women they're calling persons of interest.
Pagan's family is urging anyone with information to step forward and deliver the justice they so desperately seek.

"A trial, a lengthy prison sentence, that'll bring closure to the family,” says Perez.

Perez says Pagan's brother was also killed in a shooting 12 years ago. It was that trauma that he says led to Pagan's gun arrest years later.

"He carried a gun because his brother was shot in the head and murdered, and he came home, and he had to walk through that same neighborhood,” says Perez.

Despite the criminal past and gang ties that police say he had, Pagan's uncle is remembering him as a father of two who he says was popular in his community.

"He was the glue man, he was the glue to the neighborhood,” says Perez.
