A city inspector checking a faulty hot water heater made an unsuspecting and alarming discovery Monday.
Police say an inspector found a laboratory at 1912 Holland Ave. containing preserved bones and organs. Blood was also being kept in a refrigerator at the lab. The medical examiner's office has identified a male fetus as one of the remains.
Barry Greene, 62, owns the building and is currently serving jail time for sex abuse and scheduled for a 2009 release. Authorities have not yet determined if the remains found in the basement belong to Greene.
