Vendor signup has begun for Brooklyn's West Indian Day Carnival.
The carnival and parade will be held on Labor Day weekend. Parade organizers are expecting nearly 1 million people on Eastern Parkway.
Vendors who want to sell food and other wares at the carnival have a process to follow if they want to be involved. Angela Sealy, the parade's treasurer, says vendors need to have a one-day insurance policy before filling out an application with her.
Food vendors are charged $450 and arts and crafts vendors are charged $300 to sell on the Eastern Parkway during the carnival. Food vendors are also advised to get a permit from the Department of Health if they don't want to get a $2,000 fine.
The deadline for registering without facing late fees is Aug. 20.
