News 12 spoke with Venezuelan refugees in Jackson Heights about the U.S. airstrikes on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
One refugee, who came to America in 2023, says his mother, father and sister are still in the country.
"I’m very happy…truly. At the same time, I’m worried because my family is in Venezuela," said Delson.
Izaak, another refugee, said he hasn't been able to speak with his family about the attack on the capitol.
“They spy on us…If we talk to them, they are going to go to the house and arrest them. It’s really dangerous,” said Izaak.
