One local business leader says the fluctuating cost of fuel is impacting the local economy by making it harder for companies big and small to create new positions.
Doug Wade, the owner of Wade's Dairy, says the volatile fuel market makes business owners "skittish" about adding new jobs.
"I'm very concerned about what OPEC has just done with the price of fuel, you know,” says Wade. “Because they've cut back on production which has our leaders very concerned about the fact they're cutting back at a time when so many people have been shouldering the high cost of fuel and businesses like mine suffer greatly when that fuel cost spikes so high."
Wade says Connecticut has been lucky though compared to other parts of the country where fuel prices have been much higher.
