Video: NYPD traffic agent harassed for towing vehicle in Borough Park

Video appears to show an NYPD traffic agent being harassed by a group of people for simply doing his job.
News 12 is told that the traffic agent was trying to tow a car in Borough Park when a person got in the vehicle and drove over the tow truck's wheel lift in an attempt to get away.
The agent tried to follow along with the car, but a group of people surrounded him and began yelling. In the video, one person can be heard saying, "You work in the wrong precinct, you should work in Harlem. They'll kill him over there."
Local residents told News 12 that some people in the video are members of the Shomrim Patrol, a public safety neighborhood watch group.
The NYPD says agents have responded to the area at the request of community members and representatives who were concerned about illegal parking that was impeding traffic. They did not clarify why the car in the video was being towed, but city records show a long list of parking violations for the vehicle's license plate that total over $1,000.
NYPD Lt. John Grimpel went on to say that the act was "disgusting behavior against an agent who was doing his job to keep New Yorkers safe while exhibiting restraint and professionalism."
