A memorial and candlelight vigil has held Friday night in East Flatbush to mark five years since the death of Kimani Gray, who was shot by two NYPD officers who claimed he had a gun.
Dozens of people turned out to honor Gray, as well as others who have been killed by police.
Gray was 16 years old when he died. Neither officer involved in the shooting was indicted, sparking massive outrage in the community.
Gray's mother says that while five years have passed, time has not made coping with his death any easier. She says the only way for her to cope is to continue fighting for justice for families of people slain by police.
