Volunteers in Red Hook turned the River of God Christian Center into a distribution center this week.
Community members collected food, clothing, household items and supplies for victims of Superstorm Sandy. They say they gathered the donations when they saw the damage left behind in the area.
The center has only been open for a day and organizers say they have already helped a few hundred people. Those who visited the center say they are grateful for the compassion of the community.
