Monday marked the deadline for New Yorkers to apply for an absentee ballot, and early voting is on its way soon.
Monday was also the last day to submit a change of address request.
The general election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Due to a recent change in law, New York state voters are no longer permitted to cast a ballot on a voting machine if they have already been issued an absentee ballot for that election.
Some of the groups that qualify, include New Yorkers who will not be in any of the five boroughs on Election Day, or those people who can’t show up to polls due to a temporary or permanent illness.
Those who have been issued an absentee ballot can still vote in-person using an affidavit ballot.

The early voting period will begin on Oct. 28 and will run through Nov. 5.
