People in the Bronx came out to vote Tuesday, but some were met with polling site issues.
Some polling stations like P.S. 79 on 181st Street and P.S. 33 on Jerome Avenue experienced some delays as sites opened at 6 a.m.
Despite technical difficulties, voters in line didn't seem to mind. A Bronx senior citizen also claims she was forced to vote by affidavit at her local polling site because her electronic voter registration card had the wrong information on it.
However, at P.S. 360 in Kingsbridge, people were forced to wait for over an hour before doors finally opened at 7:30 a.m.
News 12 is told the machines were acting up, and officials had the wrong keys to the building, creating the delay.
Tyreka Simmons has been a coordinator for 15 years and says this year's turnout has been historic.
"I'm just happy with the outcome. I'm happy everyone is here to vote it's been busy this morning, but we have a good start," says Simmons.
