Warming buses were at Fort Independence Houses Saturday after the heat and hot water stopped working.
NYCHA says it's actively working on fixing a major break on the heating main line. There are reportedly over 700 residents affected by the outage.
"I'm so frustrated by the fact that two weeks after this tragic fire we're seeing not one or just Fordham, Independence and 715 residents who live there but across the city. Right now there's three NYCHA developments and countless other private buildings that are without heat and hot water, that have tenants heating their home with space heaters and all of this - and it's just unacceptable," says Councilman Pierina Sanchez.
