Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez opened an office in Queens Monday, as her team continues to look for a Bronx office.
It has been a busy first few months in office for Ocasio-Cortez, as she has dealt with issues on a national stage, such as questioning President Trump's former personal attorney Michael Cohen. But she has also tackled quality-of-life issues for her constituents, including Postal Service problems for those in Morris Park and Parkchester.
Ocasio-Cortez took questions in her new office on a range of issues including the crisis in Venezuela to the fallout of the Amazon deal in Long Island City.
"My opposition to Amazon is rooted in the community's opposition to Amazon," says Ocasio-Cortez. "You know folks think that we took down the richest man in the world with three tweets and that is not what happened. And I don't think that enough attention is being applied to the actual amount of community resistance."
She also says she has been calling constituents that submitted case work to her office to provide them a personal update.
