Water has been restored to the more than 100 families on Chauncey Street, who lost their water and heat yesterday after a water main broke.
Residents were alerted by Department of Environmental Protection crews yesterday morning, who handed out notices and went door-to-door to warn them about the emergency. While crews repaired the water main, residents on the street had their water shut off, and some felt the city could have given them more notice beforehand.
The water was turned back on yesterday afternoon, but the DEP says more repair work needs to be done in the area.
