We’re Open: Hair by Dee
A Bronx business owner who came from the Dominican Republic to live out her dream as a hairstylist is adapting to business during the coronavirus pandemic--but fears a second wave could ‘cut her out’ of the picture.
Denisse Uribe has been a hairstylist for 20 years. She feared losing her business when she was forced to close for about three months by state order, but Uribe did not fold despite the financial burden.
"I don't like to give up, you can make it, you don't have to think about what you lost -- you need to think about what you can gain,” said Uribe.
However, she says if New York puts businesses on pause again due to a resurgence of COVID-19--“I may be done,” said Uribe.
The salon is following safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Uribe says she is holding on to hope and a dream.
