The West Indian-American carnival kicked off in Brooklyn Thursday with a reggae party.
The opening night was held at the Brooklyn Museum, and the party is expected to continue through the weekend.
Friday will feature the annual Youthfest and on Saturday the steel bands will take center stage.
Then on Monday there will be the big parade along Eastern Parkway.
