Chef Vinny Olivieri, of Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace, shows News 12's Lily Stolzberg how to make an apple crisp.
Ingredients:
For the filling:
6-7 Granny Smith or Honey Crisp apples (peeled and sliced)
Juice from one lemon
2 tablespoons of flour
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt

For the crisp:
1 cup flour
¾ cup sugar
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 large egg (beaten well)
1/3 lb. unsalted butter (melted)
For the pan:
1 teaspoon of unsalted butter
Directions:
Peel and slice apples and then place them in a bowl of water with the juice of one lemon.
Mix together the drained apple slices and other filling ingredients and then set it aside.
In a separate mixing bowl; mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and one egg. The texture should be dry and crumbly.
Butter the bottom and sides of a 9 inch round pie pan.
Place the apple filling into the buttered pie pan.
Place the crisp mix over the pie filling.
Drizzle butter evenly over the crisp mix.
Place in a pre-heated oven at 356 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
