The Whole Foods in Gowanus raised money Friday to help benefit a Park Slope school.
Five percent of sales at the grocery store on Friday will be going to P.S. 118, which is named after children's author and illustrator Maurice Sendak.
To honor the Brooklyn native, the store held readings of his books and held a Sendak-inspired costume competition.
The money will help the school provide more enrichment classes.
