Eileen Davidson started the Michael R. Davidson Foundation in honor of her husband, who was killed responding to a fire in Harlem in 2018. He left behind four children.
Davidson says she wants to give back to other families, so they don't have to go through what she did.
On Thursday, she's hosting her first ever “MRD Gala” with the goal to raise $75,000.
"I think that's been the most cathartic thing for me, feeling like my husband is still helping people.  We are doing this in his name, it's who Michael was. He'd give you the shirt off his back walking down the street if you were a stranger. And so, for those who didn't know him, my hope is that they get to know him through the spirit of this foundation,” says Davidson.
The event will be held at the Rockaway Hotel in Queens. For more information, click here.
