The Williamsburg Independent Film Festival opened its seventh year with close to a dozen films.
Most of them are short films ranging from six to 10 minutes.
The main event of opening night is more than an hour long. It's called "Tryst," a movie about a group of New Yorkers navigating their 20s with shaky relationships and lots of alcohol.
Jane Lynch, of Fox's "Glee" series, was on hand. So was actress Linda Hamilton, who received an award.
The film festival runs through Sunday.
