Sony Pictures released its controversial film "The Interview" in a limited number of theaters Christmas Day following its cancellation due to threats from hackers.
In Brooklyn, Williamsburg Cinemas was one of the more than 300 theaters nationwide to screen the movie, and among only a handful of those in the city.
Dozens of people packed each showing -- some even lining up before the theater opened.
Sony also made the movie available for streaming or download Wednesday from a number digital platforms such as YouTube, Google Play and Xbox Video.
Despite being available online, most moviegoers say they prefer the experience of seeing it in theaters.
