Wind alert: Gusty conditions, low humidity in NYC increase risk for brush fires

Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Darryl Green says New York City is on wind alert through Friday night. Green says the combination of 25-35 mph gusts and very low humidity is causing an increased fire danger.

Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Darryl Green says New York City is on wind alert through Friday night. Green says the combination of 25-35 mph gusts and very low humidity is causing an increased fire danger.
A wind alert will be in effect again Friday, which will consist of sunny skies and breezy conditions. There will be 25-35 mph gusts combined with very low humidity that can cause an elevated fire risk. Temperatures will be in the low-60s.

FRIDAY - WIND ALERT: Plenty of sun, breezy again. 25-35 mph gusts combined with very low humidity causing an elevated fire risk. Highs near 62. Lows down to 45.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny again, a bit milder. Winds calm down! Highs around 65. Lows down to 48.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny, a few high thin clouds late. Pick of the weekend, it'll be awesome! Highs up to 69. Lows down to 52.
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with a few scattered showers throughout the day. Cooler, with highs near 61. Lows around 58.
TUESDAY: Partly cloudy and warm!. Highs near 72. Lows down to 59.
WEDNESDAY: A morning shower, otherwise partly cloudy. Highs up to 75. Lows near 54.
