To keep warm air inside your house, and keep cold air out, experts suggest using weather seal tape on windows. It's an energy-efficient method that can be used indoors or outdoors. Weather seal tape also works in the summertime if you're cooling your home with air conditioning.

Air-conditioning window units can be major sources of air leakage. But if you don't want to take the unit out of the window during the winter, you can use an air conditioner cover that pops onto the back and stops air flow.
