Film director McGregory Frederique and screenwriter Sean Baker are back to work on projects following the 118-day actors’ strike.

Frederique is a Bronx native and now lives in Long Island while Baker is from Harlem.

The strike, Baker told News 12, greatly hindered his creative process.

"I think it was kind of like a long process, but I think it was definitely necessary for the actresses and actors to come to an agreement,” says Baker.

Now, McGregory and Baker are both ready to tackle their passion, one film at a time. Their most recent project, a short film called “Double Dealings," is set to release in March 2024.

The SAG-AFTRA strike began on July 14 and officially ended on Nov. 9. A deal with Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) was finally reached on December 5, which included AI protections and strong benefit plans.
