Witnesses: Boy hospitalized after being struck by ambulance

A young boy is in the hospital after witnesses tell News 12 he was struck by an ambulance around 3 p.m. on Blake Avenue in Brownsville. Two friends of the victim say they got out of school at P.S.

A young boy is in the hospital after witnesses tell News 12 he was struck by an ambulance around 3 p.m. on Blake Avenue in Brownsville.
Two friends of the victim say they got out of school at P.S. 156 and were crossing Blake Avenue to get snacks at a store down the road. They say they looked behind them for their friend and watched as an ambulance without its sirens on struck their friend, sending him flying down the street.
Several people who live in the apartment building on the corner told News 12 there are always young children walking around and they can't believe what happened. 
The children told News 12 their friend was unconscious and taken to a local hospital.
