A former Madison High School teacher accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student pleaded not guilty in court today. English teacher Erin Sayar was arraigned on several charges, including third-degree rape and criminal sex acts. Authorities say the alleged affair was uncovered by the young boy's girlfriend, who noticed an exchange between the two on Facebook after Sayar began tutoring sessions. Prosecutors listed evidence in court today that they say includes thousands of inappropriate text messages, plus Facebook conversations. They allege that the monthlong sexual relationship also included drug use. Sayar declined to speak to News 12 Brooklyn, but she appears to have the full support of her husband. The two were holding hands in court today. Sayar was released on $10,000 bail and is due back in court on Sept. 19. The victim's parents have filed a $10 million lawsuit against the Department of Education (DOE).
