Though it's tough to think about, unprovoked violence can happen quickly. That's what happened to Rebecca last Wednesday.
Rebecca is a pseudonym. The women who spoke to News 12's Katelynn Ulrich wanted to remain anonymous.
According to police, early Wednesday morning a man forcibly touched a woman from behind. That was Rebecca.
"I was walking my dog between 8th Avenue and Prospect Park West on 1st Street. After I crossed the street, someone came up behind me and shoved their hand between my legs. It was so forceful that I dropped the dog leash. It happened so quickly that I only saw the man running away," said Rebecca.
She took her story to Reddit and found two more women who had similar experiences near the same area.
One incident happened the night before, another the week before.
All women were grabbed from behind, and all incidents remain under investigation according to police. News 12 asked if these incidents were connected, and police have not answered yet.
Right where Rebecca was grabbed is a wanted poster for a man suspected of forcible touching.
Police say that incident remains under investigation as well.
"I think this is the minimum of what I can do to let women know to be careful," said Rebecca.
