Actress Patti Lupone publicly scolded someone who was texting in the audience as she performed at a live theater earlier this week, interrupting the show and taking away the person's cellphone.
Also this week, a video surfaced on YouTube showing an audience member climbing up on stage to try and charge his phone at the play "Hand to God" in a prop outlet that wasn't actually connected to power.
News 12 Brooklyn hit the streets to ask what borough residents think the punishment should be for disrupting a show.
Responses ranged from throwing rude spectators out of the theater to having phone checks at the door. Many said the practice of texting in the audience was disrespectful.
