The world-famous Dyker Heights Christmas light displays have returned to spread cheer for the holiday season.
Nearly every inch of the neighborhood is covered in lights, inflatable Santa Clauses, giant nutcrackers and nativity scenes.
Longtime resident Lucille Spata says it is easy to see why so many people travel to view the elaborate displays each year. She says she started the tradition when she moved to the neighborhood 37 years ago.
“It's better than Rockefeller Center. It's beautiful. Every block, the houses are just beautiful, fully decorated from top to bottom. It's a wonderful thing to see,” she said.
During the season, visitors can see the lights from dusk until about 9 p.m. every day of the week.
"Visit Dyker Heights. You won't regret it, and you'll come back again next year,” said Spata.
