The New York Blood Center and the New York Yankees held
a blood drive today at Yankee Stadium.
Donors came to give blood to the center to help people in need across the
state.
Last month, the NYBC announced a blood emergency due to a drop in blood donations. The center says New York's blood supply is currently running below ideal levels. National research has also shown that the COVID-19 pandemic significantly reduced blood donations around the country.
Each blood donation has the ability to save up to three lives. The first 250 donors at this drive will also receive a ticket voucher valid for two tickets to select New York Yankees home games.
