The Yonkers Municipal Housing Authority (MHACY) will be adding applicants to their housing choice voucher waiting list for the first time in a decade on Tuesday at the Yonkers Riverfront Library.
There are 14,500 families who applied for their chance to be added to the highly coveted list.
MHACY has assigned each applicant a number for the drawing that will consist of numbers put on pieces of paper drawn from a tumbler much like the lottery seen on TV.
Those selected will be notified within a week after the lottery and can use their vouchers anywhere in the country or they may be able to accept housing within MHACY's apartment buildings.
