A Yonkers man has pleaded guilty to first-degree assault after prosecutors say he stabbed a man in the neck during a dispute at a Babylon residence.
Suffolk County prosecutors say Robert Brozowski, 35, admitted to attacking a 38-year-old man on Aug. 29, 2025. According to court documents and Brozowski's admissions during his plea, he attempted to start a verbal argument with the victim before stabbing him in the neck with a knife. Authorities say the two did not know each other before the incident.
Prosecutors say Brozowski fled the scene in a pickup truck, but Suffolk County police located the vehicle and took him into custody after a brief pursuit.
The victim was rushed to a hospital and underwent extensive emergency surgery after the stabbing severed both his trachea and esophagus. He has since been discharged and continues to recover.
Brozowski pleaded guilty Thursday to first-degree assault, a violent felony. He is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 28 and is expected to receive an 18-year prison sentence.
